Each year the interior design world gathers to celebrate the season’s most beloved show house — the annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House. We are celebrating our collaboration with Richard Ouellette, the founder of Les Ensembliers, who masterfully created a jewel box of a dressing room called “Le Jardin Secret”. We worked with Richard to outfit his dressing room with over 100 CINER pieces to reflect the dressing room of a woman who had collected jewelry, both costume and vintage, throughout her entire life.
As Richard explains the concept behind Le Jardin Secret “When we set out to design the ultimate dressing room of a sophisticated, well-traveled woman with a strong character and creative mind. Every design element was chosen to complement her air of self-assurance and her profoundly cosmopolitan taste.”
We were honored to work with Richard to curate an assortment of CINER pieces that ranged from iconic pieces from our design archives to modern day designs that a 21st century woman would wear to outfit his extraordinary room. A curio cabinet between the windows showcased the woman’s CINER gold and emerald jewelry collection, as well as her dressing table below a custom light sculpture made of white and gold geometric prisms.
Richard’s design philosophy of building meaning into beauty was evident in every square inch of the dressing room. From the pendant-like light fixtures that echo her collection of designer jewelry to the McWen abstract on the wall, Richard created a space that so intimately captured the exquisite taste of the woman Le Jardin secret was designed for.
